Avoiding Finals

The last week of school is upon us here at Macalester College, which only means one thing. Finals are quickly approaching us. Yesterday was our last day of classes, so the rest of this week is comprised of study days, essays, and exams. Needless to say, I will be quite busy over the next few days.

To celebrate our last day of classes, my boyfriend took us on a small date night celebration. After finishing classes for the day, we took a few hours to study and then we said bye to housemates for the night. Our first stop was dinner. We drove into downtown Minneapolis and had a light dinner at Lu's Sandwiches.

The food was delicious! The restaurant was Vietnamese, and the menu consisted of a variety of Banh Mis. We found a small park nearby and enjoyed the warm weather that recently found the Twin Cities area. Both us enjoyed spring rolls and grilled pork banh mi sandwiches. I also convinced Dylan to buy a small bubble tea for us!

After dinner, we drove to the second part of our evening... the Madeon Concert. In case you're like me and have never heard of Madeon before, Madeon is the stage name for 20 year old French music producer Hugo Leclercq. His music mostly consists of the electronic variety, but he originally gained popularity by creating a variety of mash ups.

The opening act of the night was The M Machine. They are an electronic duo from California. I had never heard of their music before, but I really liked it. They had a good atmosphere and were able to warm the crown up well.

Afterwards though was what the whole crowd was waiting for. The set up was finally ready and Madeon came out. Madeon's set was really neat! He had a light backdrop that was set up similarly to his CD cover.

The rest of the concert was really exciting! I had fun dancing and listening to music with Dylan. But important note for the next concert, I need to make sure that Dylan shaves before hand haha. It was slightly hard to dance with him, since my hair kept getting caught in his scruff. Madeon even came back for an encore, although I have no idea what song he played. Wish I could say...
Needless to say the night was wonderful and a great end to the school year! We even took home a signed copy of Madeon's first released CD, Love Adventure.

Now here's to hoping that final exams go well.
