So on Halloween, this past Saturday my boyfriend and I headed downtown to celebrate by seeing Zedd at his True Colors Tour. The show was a great mix of surprises and excitement! The line up was stacked - a local DJ, A-Trak, Zedd, and some surprise guests.

Dylan and I dressed up for the concert - after all it was Halloween

The show started off great, a local DJ was playing, so we hung out in the back and just watched everyone trickle in. It was cool to watch all the different costumes parade by, I was surprised that nearly every single person in the audience was in some sort of costume.

After the local DJ was done playing, A Trak came on. I have never heard of A Trak before, but I didn't see much variation in his music. His music was very good and upbeat, but it was pretty generic and similar to a lot of other DJs already out there.

But after about half an hour, finally Zedd came out!

Zedd's lit up stage

After all the waiting, Zedd did not disappoint at all! He came out on this fantastic lighted stage, with multiple platforms, and Zedd performed from the top most platform. Zedd opened with his classics, he performed everything from his new songs to his old hits. He played tons of songs, and included some fun Top 40's like I Can't Feel My Face by the Weekend. There were also laser light shows synchronized to the songs - an interesting visual display to accompany the music!

Lasers galore!
Of course because it was Halloween there have to be tricks or treats! Zedd had been hinting at everyone he would have different surprise guests along the way.  And to this he still held true on his last show! Some very amazing and surprising guest DJs showed up and wow they did not disappoint! Who were these very amazing guests? Well it was Deadmau5, DaftPunk, and Steve Aoki!

However, here comes the trick. After enjoying the show and having a great night, we got a bit suspicious about the guest performers... and it turns out we had a right to be suspicious. There is a strong possibility that we all got trolled by Zedd, seeing as Deadmau5 was performing elsewhere that night... and so was Steve Aoki. While no one had confirmed this, it seems the internet is also curious about this occurrence too...

Either or, the night was wonderful and I had so much fun!

November is here and with it comes daylight savings time - so don't forget to set your clocks back! With this month, the holidays are starting, so not only do I have to watch the weather, I need to guard my wallet and my eating habits! But before I list this month's goals, let's look back on October's.

October was a pretty busy month for me, lots of school and activities going around. Thank goodness for our school's fall break, otherwise I would've gone crazy. But with my goals, I fell short. I didn't manage to complete as much as I wanted...

1. Keep my bed clean of clothes during the school week. This I managed to finish, after I disciplined myself the first week, it was easy to keep my bed clean during the month. And I really enjoyed how clean this little task made my whole room appear.

2. Finish 1 book. This failed - I've started and am still reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler.

3. Run at least 3x a week, train for the Turkey Trot 8K! This also failed, I recently started kickboxing and one week I hurt my foot and was unable to run for the week.

4. Start a new blog series. This I managed to do! I started a new series, 5 on Friday.

* * *

So with October coming to and end, I've put that all behind me and I've got a new list of goals to follow. Hopefully some of last month's goals will still stick with me this month, without them having to be a goal anymore, since I really like having a clean bed! With the holidays coming, my November goals will focus mostly on fitness and budgeting.

NOVEMBER GOALS 2015

1. Finish 1 book.
This month I really hope I can finish Yes Please by Amy Poehler! It's not that I don't enjoy this book, but it's difficult for me to find the time to settle down and read.

2. Run at least 3x a week - seriously this time! The Turkey Trot 8K is now only a few weeks away. This means I officially need to start training and running if I expect to finish the race!

3. Attempt and finish the 30 day plank challenge. Kickboxing has really got me wanting to get in shape - planks are a huge part of our workout. If you guys want to try it with me, the schedule is here.

4. Yoga 2x a week. Yoga will help stretch out and is important to help calm me when life is stressful. This is something I want to start working on, I used to do pilates last year - so I feel like yoga will be good for me too.

5. Stick to a budget of <$50 a week (sans gifts). With the holidays coming up, it's tempting to keep buying everything and anything with all the sales going on. So in order to control my spending on food and such, I need to stick to my budget. Plus there are so many birthdays in November and December that I need to save money to get those people their presents too!

With Halloween tomorrow, a couple things immediately cross my mind.
Costumes.
Scary stories.
Candy.
And yes, it did occur in that moment. I am a huge fan of Halloween, and so I have so much fun around this time of year. I'm 21 and I still dress up and try my luck at trick or treating with friends every year. (Last year we had a good animal theme going!) However, one of my favorite things about Halloween is hearing all the new and old scary stories. I love horror movies, and I am a huge fan of creepy pasta.

So this week, I wanted to share 5 of my favorite creepy or scary stories that I've come across this year.

{one}
Bloody Mary

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, everyone has heard of or either attempted to play the game Bloody Mary. While the story varies from place to place, the general idea is you look into a mirror and say the name Bloody Mary, and she will appear to you. There are tons of stories online about peoples' accounts with the game. Recently, YouTube recommended this video to me, and I must say it gave me some good chills initially.

Thought Catalog's Creepy Ghost Photos

I'm an avid photography fan, but sometimes things that show up in photos are down right terrifying. Ghost photography is something that is creepy and amazing all at the same time. While these photos may or may not convince you of what is out there, they still give you a good jump and raise your curiosity. See some for yourself here.

American Horror Story and Stories that Inspired the Series

American Horror Story is a tele series that has recently started its 5th season. While each season varies a bit, they're all equally addicting! The show is a mix of mystery, suspense, thrill, and of course horror. At times the show is very stressful, but I enjoy watching every bit of it! You can catch AHS on Fox, Wednesdays at 10pm.

If AHS is too much for you, or if you want more... many different things have been written about the show. One video I recently came across was by the YouTube channel Top 5s. This video relates some of the creepier plot lines in AHS to real life people. It was an educational and creepy moment to realize that some of the stories aren't just fictional after all.

reddit.com/r/nosleep

Reddit is everything to the Internet, it's quite an addicting site and has something for everybody. This means that you can look up cute pictures of animals, or you can read tons of horror stories. I love visiting the subreddit nosleep. This is where people post lots of horror stories that can be true or fictional. New stories get posted every day, so you will never run out of things to read.

Here are two of my favorite stories I read from the past year:
Air Traffic Controller

Hacking Baby Moniters

{five}
Black Eyed People

Whether or not these are true, these stories are quite creepy and I never want to encounter one myself. Black Eyed People are told to be people with pitch black eyes, who will appear at your house. With their encounters an alarmingly heavy feeling of dread will overcome you. All over the internet you can find many different stories about them, but just to help you with an introduction check out the Creepy Pasta- Black Eyed People article.

There are so many creepy things to share and talk about! It was so hard to pick just five, but I did my best! Do you guys have any other creepy things you want to share? I love reading about them, leave them down in the comments below!

This one came at kinda a wonderful time - and more coincidently was unplanned for this week! My favorite time of year happens to be right now. I love fall time and the very early days of winter chill! Some of my favorite things to do are in the fall. Fall means the start of colorful leaves, warm sweaters, and everything apple!

Fall to me is perfect! It's the end of scorching hot summer days, but not quite the beginning of winter chills. There are lots of fun activities like apple picking, reading outside, or taking a run (sweating only from your activity - not heat)!

What time of year is your favorite? Let me know down below, and if it's fall let's compare fun stories!

This post is part of my Getting to Know Me Blogging Challenge, the goal of which to introduce myself to you. A list of each week's topic can be found in the Introduction post. If you would like to participate in the challenge or write up some blog posts from the challenge, let me know! I would love to read them!

Week 23: 5 Favorite Movies

There are two things in life that I love - writing and photography. These two hobbies not only help me destress and give me a break from life every once in awhile, but they also help me document my life. I have filled countless journals with writings, drawing, pictures, polaroids, and countless slips of papers and such.

While I'm not quite ready to share with you the pages of my personal journal, I do want to share fun events and other exciting things that are happening in my life. So with that, I bring you Photo Diaries!

Running is somewhat of a new thing for me. I've been trying for awhile to make it a consist thing. Our school recently had Parent's Week, which is always accompanied by the annual 5K. However, with construction blocking part of our school's sidewalks, the run was shortened and our school held it's first ever 4K. I am proud to say that I ran the entire thing in 26 minutes.

Fall break is a much needed and welcomed time at my school. It's a nice 4 day weekend allowing all of us students (and professors) time to relax and catch up on work or life. I spent my first day of break vegging and relaxing. I took the time to finish all the little things I needed to do that had built up during the first half of the semester. Oh! And I also treated myself to a little sweet treat from Cocoa & Fig

With the weather getting gloomier, it's harder to find things to do outside for the whole day. But with break, I wanted a chance to explore the city. My friend and I decided to brave the rain and head downtown to visit a new place, the Mill City Museum. I recommend this museum if you have the chance. I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised learning all the facts and history about the Twin Cities' mill industry. An additional plus, is the beautiful view from the top of the building.

A huge and popular fall activity is apple picking! I love apples and so naturally I wanted to go apple picking this break! My friends and I made a nice day journey to Afton Apple Orchard to do all things fall; apple picking, feeding animals, corn mazes, pumpkin patching. It was a slightly blustery day, but it made that final apple cider and apple donut more delicious at the end of our day.
